Originally from Puerto Rico, Giuliana is an international student just starting off at Manhattan Academy. The seventeen-year-old senior didn’t want to leave her high school back in Puerto Rico right before her last year, but she knew that getting the opportunity to attend Manhattan Academy was a once in a lifetime opportunity- or at least for her. See, Giuliana comes from a poor family that cannot afford to help support her and her dreams of acting and singing. She has never been able to train her voice or acting skills because she was too busy working two other jobs on top of her schoolwork, but she was in a low-budget production in her hometown. In fact, that’s where she was discovered. A member of the admissions board had been on vacation and had gone to the show with his family. By the end of the night, he had pulled Giuliana aside after a long phone call with everyone back home and had offered her a full ride.

Giuliana is a very hardworking and ambitious girl. She is a bit naive and innocent, but she also has a pure heart. Even if someone uses her, she will smile and be nice because that’s how everyone should be treated, right? She has no idea what Manhattan has in store for her, a small girl from Puerto Rico just trying to get her voice heard. Being in high school, Giuliana will have to struggle with the pressures to go out and party, something that is foreign to her. Thankfully, it’s something that she has never experienced before. On the other hand, that makes it all the more interesting to her. Unlike most students, she has a scholarship on the line.
